Louisiana Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds 2024 Conference to Boost Campground Industry with Networking, Education

The Louisiana Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (LARVC) is set to host its 2024 Conference from January 21 to 23 at Camp Margaritaville RV Resort in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana.

This event marks a significant gathering for campground owners, managers, and business partners, focusing on education, networking, and industry growth.

The conference will commence on Sunday, January 21, with a pot-luck dinner at the recreation center. This informal gathering is designed to foster networking among participants.

On Monday, January 22, the day will begin with breakfast, followed by registration and vendor set-up.

The morning session will feature Danika Foley Long, a professional speaker and news director, discussing strategies to “Beat Burnout Before Burnout Beats You.” This topic is particularly relevant for industry professionals facing the challenges of a demanding work environment.

Following Long’s presentation, Amy Campo from Clubhouse Vacations will address the conference at 11:00 AM. Her talk, titled “What Campers Ask for in Planning Their Vacation,” will provide valuable insights into customer preferences and trends in the camping sector. This session aims to equip campground owners and managers with knowledge to enhance their service offerings.

The afternoon will see a panel of owners and managers discussing “Operations Topics and Money Making Ideas.” This segment is designed to offer practical advice and innovative strategies for running successful campgrounds. The discussion will also include a question-and-answer session, allowing attendees to engage directly with industry experts.

The day will continue with an Exhibitor Trade Show from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, where attendees can connect with suppliers and discuss campground necessities. This is an opportunity for campground owners to explore new products and services that could enhance their operations.

The evening will feature statistics and travel numbers from the Louisiana Office of Tourism, providing attendees with valuable market insights. The day will conclude with a silent and live auction, dinner, and an opportunity to enjoy Cajun Fast Tracks, facilitating further networking.

Tuesday, January 23, will start with breakfast, followed by a membership meeting and board election at 9:00 AM. This session is crucial for shaping the future direction of LARVC and its initiatives.

KSquared Co. will lead a session on “Social Media Best Practices” from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. In today’s digital age, understanding social media is essential for campground operators to effectively market their services and engage with a broader audience.

The conference will also include updates from OHI (formerly the ARVC), offering insights into national trends and developments in the industry. This session is an essential component for attendees looking to stay abreast of broader industry movements.

The event will conclude with a tour of Camp Margaritaville RV Resort, providing a practical example of a successful RV park and campground.

The LARVC 2024 Conference serves as a platform for professional development, industry insight, and networking.

It offers a unique opportunity for campground and outdoor hospitality operators to gain knowledge, share experiences, and build connections that can enhance their businesses and contribute to the growth of the campground industry in Louisiana.

LARVC, as a non-profit professional association, plays a vital role in promoting campgrounds and RV parks in Louisiana. The conference aligns with its vision to provide excellent hospitality to the camping public and support the tourism industry in the state. Members of LARVC benefit from professional development and marketing opportunities, essential for the success of their operations and the industry at large.
