Lightship, the nation’s “first all-electric recreational vehicle manufacturer,” has begun production of its AE.1 Cosmos Edition and expanded its flagship AE.1 lineup with two new offerings.
The AE.1 Atmos and AE.1 Panos are now available for order at different price points, broadening access to the company’s electric travel trailer technology.
Production is underway at Lightship’s facility, with deliveries of the Cosmos Edition scheduled to begin by the end of summer 2025.
The company said the limited-release model is now sold out following strong demand from early adopters.
“The Cosmos Edition proved that the market is hungry for electric RVs that don’t compromise on performance or design,” Toby Kraus, Lightship co-founder and CEO said in a press release.
“Now we’re opening those doors wider. Atmos and Panos bring our vision of sustainable adventure to more families and adventurers, regardless of their camping style,” Kraus added.
Founded in 2020, Lightship designs and manufactures its products in the United States, combining aerodynamic engineering, integrated power systems, and a focus on sustainability.
The AE.1 travel trailer uses the company’s proprietary TrekDrive system, designed to improve range and fuel efficiency for both electric and gas-powered tow vehicles.
The TrekDrive system operates independently, sensing acceleration, braking, and cornering to adjust power delivery in real time. Lightship said this technology can double the range of an EV or improve the fuel economy of a gas-powered vehicle when towing.
With the introduction of the AE.1 Atmos and AE.1 Panos, the company now offers three trims aimed at different types of travelers. Each model features an Aero-Electric design and is equipped with integrated solar panels and battery storage for off-grid travel.
The AE.1 Atmos includes TrekDrive assistance, 1.8 kW of solar capacity, and a 77-kWh battery system. Optional features include a motorized awning and a third-bed configuration. Pricing starts at $184,000, with customer deliveries expected to begin in spring 2026.
The AE.1 Panos also features TrekDrive assistance, 840 watts of solar capacity, and a 44-kWh battery system. Optional upgrades match those of the Atmos. Pricing starts at $151,000, with deliveries planned for late 2026.
“We’ve engineered these models to meet adventurers where they are,” said Ben Parker, Lightship co-founder and chief product officer. “Whether you’re planning extended off-grid expeditions or weekend getaways, there’s now an AE.1 designed specifically for your style of exploration.”
