The Outdoor Hospitality Conference & Expo (OHCE) returned this year with its annual programming focused on professional development, networking, and industry innovation.
Recognized by Trade Show Magazine as a “Top 50” trade show, OHCE provides attendees with opportunities to connect with peers, learn from experts, and explore products and services relevant to the outdoor hospitality, glamping, RV, and caravan industries.
During OHCE®2025, the Outdoor Hospitality Industry (OHI) presented its 2025 Awards of Excellence, recognizing individuals and organizations for their contributions across operations, sustainability, education, innovation, advocacy, and leadership.
The awards were announced throughout the week at various events, including the Celebrate Innovation: OHI® Awards of Excellence Luncheon on November 10, which served as the centerpiece of the program.

The Trailblazer Award was presented to Barb Krumm, CPO, OHC, who has supported both large and small campground operators and served as a mentor to many within the industry.
Krumm accepted the award, acknowledging the support of her colleagues and family, and noting, “If you’re new to the industry or thinking about it, look for the people, ’cause it is one of the friendliest groups of people you’ll ever meet.”

Joe Moore, CPO, OHC, received the Above and Beyond Award, which recognizes individuals demonstrating consistent support for their peers and community initiatives.
The award highlighted Moore’s ongoing contributions, including donations and volunteer efforts in response to natural disasters. Moore commented, “Giving back is what God gave me the ability to.”
Mike Harrison received the Outdoor Hospitality Industry Leadership Award for his ongoing contributions to advancing best practices and fostering collaboration across the sector.

Mark Maciha, Ed.D., who was not present during the event due to plane issues, was awarded the Herb Strauss Educational Impact Award, highlighting his work in providing education, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for park operators and staff.
Jim Button received the Stan Martin Memorial Award, which honors individuals who have demonstrated long-term dedication and service to the outdoor hospitality community. “I couldn’t do this without everybody in this room and the people that have surrounded me throughout the years,” Button said. “You are why I do this.”

Additional awards, including the Unity Through Generosity Award and the Jeff Sims Advocacy In Action Award, will be presented later in the week at OHCE events.
David Basler, Chief Strategy Officer of OHI, reflected on the significance of the awards, stating:
“These awards celebrate the people and parks who are setting new standards and making a real difference for guests and communities alike. We’re so proud to honor their achievements and share their stories with the entire industry.”
The 2025 Awards of Excellence program emphasized innovation, leadership, and dedication, recognizing the individuals and parks driving the outdoor hospitality sector forward.
The association also recognized standout campgrounds and suppliers through its Plan-It Green Environmental Innovator and Park Innovator of the Year awards, along with honors for supplier innovation, portfolio excellence, and more.
