OHI has announced that Damien Harmon, President of North America for Subway, will deliver the opening keynote address at the Outdoor Hospitality Conference & Expo (OHCE) 2025, scheduled for November 10–12 at the Kentucky International Convention Center in Louisville, Kentucky.
The annual event, organized by OHI, will revolve around the theme “The Race to Greatness,” bringing together professionals across the outdoor hospitality sector for three days of education, networking, and industry insights.
Harmon, recognized for his leadership and organizational transformation, has been named one of Fortune Magazine’s 25 Most Powerful Rising Executives in the Fortune 500 and included in the Power 300: Most Influential Black Executives in Corporate America.
He was also nominated for the Millennium Alliance’s Retail Leadership and Innovator of the Year Award.
In his current role at Subway, Harmon oversees nearly 20,000 restaurant locations across the United States, Canada, and the Bahamas.
He has led initiatives focused on improving guest experiences, advancing digital and operational strategies, and reinforcing a customer-first approach.
His experience spans more than two decades in operations, retail, and customer engagement, including leadership roles at Best Buy and Bridgestone Americas.
David Basler, OHI’s chief strategy officer, said Harmon’s leadership approach aligns closely with the conference’s central theme.
“No matter what your race looks like, you’re not running it alone. At OHCE®2025, we’re all in this big race to greatness together,” Basler said. “Damien’s leadership journey and vision for building strong, resilient businesses embody that same spirit of momentum, possibility, and purpose.”
Harmon’s keynote will address leadership, innovation, and organizational culture—topics that resonate strongly within the outdoor hospitality sector.
For campground, RV park, and glamping business owners, his message may offer practical takeaways on navigating operational change, fostering team culture, and leveraging innovation to strengthen guest experiences—core aspects that continue to shape the industry’s competitiveness and growth.
OHI’s 2025 conference aims to provide attendees with actionable insights from leaders across industries, positioning the event as a platform for idea exchange and professional development. Registration for OHCE 2025 is open at ohi.org/event/ohce/.
