Miller Riverview Park and Campground Reopens Following High Water Levels

Miller Riverview Park and Campground in Dubuque has reopened after recent flooding caused by heavy rainfall across eastern Iowa.

According to an article published by Iowa News, city officials confirmed the river levels along the Mississippi River have dropped enough to allow safe access to the park, though some areas remain muddy with standing water.

Located at 1851 Admiral Sheehy Dr., the 20-acre campground sits next to the Q Casino + Resort and features a range of amenities for both tent and RV campers.

The campground offers primitive campsites as well as pull-through and back-in options equipped with 20-, 30-, or 50-amp electric hookups.

The park, managed by the City of Dubuque, also includes handicapped-accessible restrooms and showers, picnic tables, firepit grills, and playground equipment.

Campers also have access to city water, a dumping station near the entrance, and nearly 1 mile of walking and biking trail.

The park is pet-friendly and offers fishing along the Mississippi River shoreline and use of three picnic pavilion shelters.

The campground season typically runs from mid-April through the fourth Sunday in October, though availability is weather and river-level dependent. Reservations may be made up to 240 days in advance, and same-day bookings are accepted.

“There is a two-night minimum requirement for reservations made for Memorial Day weekend, the 4th of July weekend, and Labor Day weekend,” campground indicates.

Rates remain unchanged for the 2025 season. A campsite with electrical hookups costs $25 per unit, per night.

Primitive sites without electricity are available for $18 per unit, per night.

“The easiest way to search for an available campsite in RecTrac is to select your begin date and the number of nights you plan to stay, and then click search. The map will display available campsites with a clear circle. Unavailable campsites are marked with a red circle,” the campground adds.
