Registration is now open for the RV Technical Institute’s (RVTI) Level 3 Chassis and Slide-Out Workshop, which will take place Monday, July 28 through Thursday, July 31 at the institute’s headquarters in Elkhart, Indiana.
The four-day training is designed for RV technicians seeking to expand their expertise and meet certification requirements for advanced chassis and slide-out systems.
According to a News and Insights report of RVIA, participants will receive 16 hours of chassis training on the first two days, covering components such as Kwikee RV steps, leveling systems, stabilizers, tongue jacks, axles, and brakes.
Instruction for the chassis course will be provided by Lippert and Dexter, two recognized suppliers in the RV components sector.
The slide-out portion will run on July 30 and July 31, offering another 16 hours focused on multiple slide system types used across various RV models.
Lippert will lead training for Through Frames, Above Floor, Slimrack, Slimrack+, and Schwintek systems, while BAL RV Products will cover Accu-Slide and Exact-Slide technologies.
This combined workshop fulfills all the requirements for Level 3 certification in both chassis and slide-outs. Courses are not available separately, ensuring comprehensive coverage in one session.
Enrollment is limited and costs $100 per participant. Technicians must hold a Level 2 RV Technical Institute certification or higher to qualify.
Those who do not meet the pre-requisite will have their registration canceled and the fee forfeited.
“RVTI Level 2 or higher certification is a pre-requisite to attend this event. Failure to meet the certification level pre-requisite will forfeit the registration fee and registration will be cancelled,” RVTI indicates.
This session marks the fifth workshop in the institute’s 2025 Level 3 training series, which helps RV technicians gain specialty hours and deepen their technical knowledge.
It is also the only Level 3 chassis and slide-out course scheduled for this year.
