A new business in northeast Indiana is offering a service designed to simplify the tent camping experience for families.
Custom Campsites, launched this week by Andrew and Jennifer Miller, provides campsite setup and teardown services, aiming to remove the logistical burdens of traditional tent camping.
The business offers complete camping setups that include tents, sleeping bags, chairs, firewood, lanterns, and other essentials based on the package selected. Packages begin at $199 for a two-night stay and are designed for groups of up to four people.
Customers can choose from three package levels, including a Glamping option that comes with added conveniences such as a cooking set and game bundle.
While no food or personal items are provided, the packages are intended to equip guests with everything they need to camp comfortably.
Custom Campsites currently operates in partnership with participating campgrounds in northeast Indiana.
Interested customers are directed to the company’s website, where they can select a package, submit a request, and book a campsite at a partnering location.
The idea for the business grew out of the Millers’ own experiences camping as a family. “We loved the time spent with our family on camping trips. We realized that the process came with its own set of challenges,” Jennifer Miller says in a press release.
“We want others to have the opportunity to focus on what truly matters: Cherished moments with family. That’s why we created Custom Campsites.”
Custom Campsites is a client of the Northeast Indiana Small Business Development Center (NEISBDC), which supported the Millers during the startup phase with business planning and marketing assistance.
For campground and RV park owners in northeast Indiana, the launch of Custom Campsites presents an opportunity to partner with a local service that can attract first-time campers and those seeking a lower-effort experience.
Such partnerships could help expand occupancy by tapping into a segment of consumers who may be interested in camping but hesitant about the effort involved in tent setup and packing.
The business also highlights a broader trend within outdoor hospitality: services that reduce friction for guests while maintaining a traditional camping atmosphere.
As interest in “frictionless camping” grows, operators may find value in exploring similar collaborations or offerings that cater to evolving guest expectations.
