Independence Bank of Havre, Montana, has presented the Care Camps Foundation with a $4,738.60 donation during the annual Fore the Kids golf tournament hosted by Kampgrounds of America (KOA) in Billings, Montana, on September 12.
The event marked another milestone in the ongoing partnership between the bank and the national nonprofit dedicated to helping children with cancer experience the outdoors.
The donation was made through Independence Bank’s Spirit Debit Card Program, which contributes up to 5 cents to the Care Camps Foundation every time a cardholder completes a transaction.
This unique initiative allows customers to make a direct impact with everyday purchases, channeling community support toward a cause closely tied to the outdoor hospitality industry.
In addition to its Spirit Debit Card contributions, Independence Bank continues to participate in KOA’s charity events, including the Fore the Kids golf tournament and the annual KOA Convention fundraising efforts benefiting Care Camps Foundation. These activities highlight the bank’s ongoing role in supporting charitable causes within the outdoor recreation community.
“Independence Bank is proud to work alongside the Care Camps Foundation to give back to a wonderful organization and help them complete their mission with our Care Camps Foundation card,” Max Vogel, KOA Loan Officer at Independence Bank, said in a press release.
Gwynn Sullivan, executive director of Care Camps Foundation, expressed appreciation for the bank’s long-term support.
“We are incredibly grateful for the longstanding support from Independence Bank. Since 2013, they have provided Care Camps Foundation charitable donations annually and we are so honored to also be included in their Spirit Debit Card Program,” Sullivan said.
The funds raised through the Spirit Debit Card Program and other contributions directly support Care Camps Foundation’s mission to bring healing and connection to families facing pediatric cancer. Each year, the foundation funds more than 120 pediatric oncology camps across the United States and Canada.
Through these camps, over 40,000 children, siblings, and parents are able to experience the outdoors in a medically supervised environment designed to foster community and joy despite the challenges of illness.
