How Sun Outdoors Adapted to the Pandemic

During the pandemic, campgrounds and RVs appeared to be safer choices for Americans to escape from their homes, allowing people to enjoy the great outdoors and travel safely.

Sun Outdoors, the most popular outdoor hospitality company across the U.S., is leading the way of this trend, according to Fortune magazine.

The company is the owner and operator of more than 175 campgrounds and resorts all across North America, providing an assortment of options such as camping, glamping, short-term, and long-term stays.

The first response of the company to the outbreak was to keep the employees and guests safe through the development of a COVID Response Plan where each guest was provided with a safety kit and the option of contactless check-in.

A reliable remote working system was also ensured for employees’ safety.

The premium WiFi offered at each of its properties lets guests stay connected at a time when remote education, work from home, or “bleisure” were becoming the new norm.

Sun Outdoors’ ability to adapt eventually resulted in over 140,000 new guests joining their list.

The company continues to invest in expansions yearly. Recent additions to its portfolio include properties located in the Florida Keys area and 123 new sites at the Carolina Pines location in South Carolina.
