House of Highways, co-founded by Colan and Cristy Lee McGeehan, has introduced HoH+, a mobile platform designed not only for RVers, vanlifers, and nomadic families, but also to help campground owners and RV parks attract more travelers.
The app’s curated database of over 45,000 U.S. campgrounds, AI-powered search through “Ask Junie,” and booking integration with Campspot give operators new ways to keep listings accurate, stand out to targeted audiences, and increase occupancy year-round.
From Road Life to Technology Innovation
Built and tested during the couple’s second year of full-time RV living, HoH+ was designed to solve a common problem McGeehan experienced firsthand—fragmented resources for trip planning and campground discovery.

“There were a lot of just different companies out there doing different things, and it was kind of overwhelming to figure out where to go to find all that information,” Colan said.
The McGeehans began by manually curating a database of over 45,000 U.S. campgrounds. This process, which took approximately seven months, drew from public sources like Google Maps, Yelp, and TripAdvisor.
McGeehan emphasized the importance of campground owners verifying and updating their listings. “If you see us on there, or if you’re even not on there, reach out to [email protected]. Our team will make sure we update everything,” he said, noting that operators can also submit up to five images for their listings.
For RV park and campground owners, HoH+ offers an opportunity to be discovered by travelers through AI-powered search.
The app’s mascot, Junie the goat, serves as the platform’s virtual guide, delivering campground suggestions tailored to user requests and booking integration through a partnership with Campspot.

Each campground profile can contain more than 100 data points, covering details from site types and hookups to amenities such as pools, laundry facilities, and pet policies.
The McGeehans’ personal passion for hiking also means the platform highlights campgrounds near trails and national parks.
With an estimated 45 million Americans RVing in 2024, generating $140 billion in spending, McGeehan believes the sector has been underserved by dedicated technology.
HoH+ aims to bridge that gap as the first AI-powered travel assistant for RVers and road travelers, while also serving as a platform for campgrounds to boost bookings and visibility.
Marketing Tools to Drive Year-Round Bookings
Independent campgrounds, McGeehan said, receive equal visibility to large chains through HoH+’s search functions, which rank results based on public reviews and user input. When operators update or verify their listings, Junie learns and improves — giving travelers better recommendations and driving more bookings for operators.
He added that partnerships can enhance listings further, similar to sponsored results on Google.
The company offers two membership tiers: the free HoH Club, which unlocks the full 45K campground database and editorial content, and HoH+, which unlocks premium features including AI trip planning, tech support, and RV-friendly GPS.

Campgrounds are integrated directly into the GPS, allowing travelers to view nearby sites during route planning.
McGeehan sees potential for the platform to help operators boost occupancy during slower seasons. By keeping listings updated and leveraging the app’s AI-driven discovery tools, properties can increase their visibility.
Campground operators can also promote special events, seasonal discounts, and packages to the HoH+ community through email campaigns, social media outreach, and web ads. The McGeehans’ combined social following of over 400,000 provides an additional promotional channel.
“We do have emails, and we have an email database that goes out to our users… we promote that out through our emails,” he said.
Plans for Future Growth
Looking ahead, McGeehan envisions HoH+ evolving into an all-in-one booking and planning hub, similar to Airbnb or TripAdvisor. “There’s no reason in this day and age that you have to go to multiple sites to pull together a trip,” he said. “You should be able to do it very easily, in one spot.”
The app is currently available on the Apple App Store and Google Play. Early adopters can take advantage of a 50% founding member discount on memberships.
Annual, seasonal, and monthly plans are available, and users can test Junie for five sessions before committing.
Since launching their nomadic journey, the McGeehans have traveled 32,000 miles, sleeping in 24 states. Their long-term goal is to expand HoH+ to Canada and eventually other RV destinations worldwide, including Australia and New Zealand.
Drawing from these experiences, McGeehan shared insights into emerging trends in outdoor hospitality. He noted the distinct differences between RV resorts, state parks, and national park campgrounds, highlighting the balance between amenities and authentic outdoor experiences.
He highlighted improvements in campground Wi-Fi and laundry facilities, as well as the growing emphasis on community through hosted events and work-camping programs. For families, amenities like pools and recreation areas remain popular draws.
Ultimately, McGeehan sees campgrounds as the foundation of the RV lifestyle.
“No matter what, the one thing that’s constant is [that] the inside of our rig is the same. It’s what’s outside of our windows that constantly changes,” he said.
