Hipcamp and AllTrails have launched a joint initiative for late summer travel, releasing a curated guide that pairs popular hiking trails with nearby campsites.
The collaboration, announced this August, is designed to encourage more people to extend outdoor excursions into overnight stays as the summer season nears its close.
The guide includes ten themed experiences, each featuring three trail options and three corresponding Hipcamp stays.
Destinations range across the United States, with activities such as stargazing during the Perseids meteor shower, forest bathing, birdwatching, and paddling at sunset. The list is intended to simplify trip planning by offering both day and overnight options in one resource.
“People are craving more meaningful outdoor moments,” said Kristen Vasan, global head of partnerships at Hipcamp.
“By pairing incredible trails with equally special places to stay, we’re helping people take the guesswork out of planning and jump straight into memory-making outside.”
Claire Gonzalez, head of marketing partnerships at AllTrails, said the collaboration was a way to encourage more time in nature.
“We’re always looking for new ways to inspire people to get outside. Hipcamp was the perfect partner to curate all-in-one experiences for our community of millions who love the outdoors,” she said in a press release.
The suggested itineraries cover diverse regions and interests. For example, those interested in stargazing can hike trails such as Montana’s Grinnell Glacier or Colorado’s High Dune before camping at nearby properties like Robinson’s Roost or Ramble at Great Sand Dunes.
Birdwatching opportunities are paired with trails in Maine, Vermont, and California, while dog owners are offered routes and campsites in Utah, Colorado, and Tennessee that welcome pets.
Other experiences include hot tub stays in North Carolina, Massachusetts, and California, as well as visits to national parks in Montana, Texas, and California.
For outdoor hospitality businesses, the collaboration highlights a growing demand for packaged outdoor experiences that combine physical activities with unique accommodations.
By showcasing examples where lodging and trails are marketed together, the guide reflects an industry trend toward integrated adventure offerings.
This model can serve as a blueprint for campgrounds, RV parks, and glamping sites seeking to attract guests looking for immersive, multi-day outdoor experiences.
The full list of itineraries is available now on Hipcamp’s platform, offering travelers opportunities to plan one more getaway before summer ends.
