Good Sam, a subsidiary of Camping World Holdings, has expanded its partnership with fintech lender Octane Lending, Inc., aiming to increase loan origination volumes across nearly 200 Camping World locations and digital buying platforms.
The move also includes Good Sam’s participation in Octane’s Series F funding round and adoption of Octane’s technology across its finance-and-insurance operations.
The expanded partnership between Good Sam and Octane is designed to streamline the RV buying experience.
According to a press release, Matthew Wagner, president of Camping World, said the strategic investment aligns the companies’ interests, enabling seamless, branded financing while supporting an asset-light business model.
“By leveraging their instant decisioning technology and embedded financing tools, we will be able to reach a broader audience of qualified buyers, generate higher-intent leads, and reduce friction throughout the buying journey,” Wagner said.
Wagner noted that the partnership includes several technology initiatives expected to deliver meaningful cost savings and return on investment for Good Sam.
The pilot program launched in January 2024, and Wagner reported it successfully proved that Good Sam brand affinity can enhance finance-and-insurance performance nationwide.
The deeper collaboration provides Good Sam with diversified funding sources and insights into credit mix, approval rates, and loan performance, Wagner added.
These insights are intended to inform the calculation of lifetime customer value in the RV sector, helping Good Sam refine its lending strategy.
Good Sam and Camping World’s network includes nearly 200 physical locations as well as online platforms that support RV sales and financing services.
Headquartered in Lincolnshire, Illinois, Camping World Holdings is the world’s largest retailer of RVs and related products and services, operating under both Camping World and Good Sam brands.
The company emphasizes a comprehensive assortment of RV products and services, a national network of dealerships, service centers, customer support, and an extensive online presence.
Good Sam also offers specialized services including roadside assistance, protection plans, and insurance, which are designed to support the broader outdoor and recreational lifestyle of RV customers.
With locations in 44 states, Camping World positions itself as the primary destination for RV sales, service, and lifestyle solutions, aiming to make RVing accessible, enjoyable, and efficient for customers nationwide.
