Global Glamping Market Anticipated to be Worth $5.94 Billion by 2030

According to a market analysis report conducted by Grand View Research, the glamping market is predicted to be on the rise in the next decade. The global glamping market size was valued at USD $2.35 billion in 2021 and is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 10.9% from 2022 to 2030.

The increasing popularity of glamping can be attributed to several factors, including the preference for experiences over traditional possessions, the availability of time, and the willingness of consumers to pay for luxury travel.

In recent years, glamping has become a trend at music festivals across the world, offering festival-goers an upgrade option at reasonable prices.

The growth of concerts and large-scale music festivals is expected to be a major driving factor for the glamping market.

Additionally, consumers are seeking unique experiences, luxurious getaways, and outdoor activities that are close to nature. This has made glamping a popular travel experience, as opposed to the niche segment it was in the last decade.

The cabin and pods segment dominates the market with a share of over 46% in 2021.

The rise of eco-tourism and the increasing importance of being a part of an immersive experience without compromising on luxuries have influenced consumers to choose cabins and pods for their camping adventures.

With the help of travel agents and booking systems, it has become easier for consumers to select the appropriate cabins that meet their needs.

The 18-32-year age group dominated the market and accounted for the maximum share of more than 44.5% of the global revenue in 2021.

According to studies by Kampgrounds of America, Inc. (KOA), the millennial and Gen Z generations are reported to be the main consumers of glamping, with 60% of leisure travelers in North America who have glamped in the past two years being part of these generations.

However, the cost of glamping is expected to be a major challenge for consumers, with one night at high-end sites costing over USD $1,000, per Grand View’s study. Nevertheless, travelers are willing to try new things without putting too much thought into the cost, as they are looking for memorable, luxurious, and close-to-nature experiences.

Despite the outbreak of COVID-19 and its impact on the live events industry, the interest in glamping among new and experienced campers remains evident.

The number of consumers looking for outdoor activities and close-to-nature experiences is expected to create new opportunities for the market in the coming years.

Therefore, the global glamping market is poised for significant growth in the next decade, with the increasing popularity of outdoor activities, the preference for unique experiences, and the rise of eco-tourism among consumers driving its growth.
