RV Technical Institute Promotes Technician Training at ACTE Region 2 Conference

The RV Technical Institute (RVTI) participated in the Association for Career and Technical Education’s Region 2 Annual Conference, held September 10–12 in Fayetteville, Ga.

The event brought together career and technical education professionals from across the region to discuss workforce training and industry needs.

The Association for Career and Technical Education, known as ACTE, is the largest national education association dedicated to advancing programs that prepare youth and adults for technical careers. Its mission centers on building a workforce that is educated, adaptable, and competitive.

The institute attended the Region 2 conference to raise awareness among school administrators about the RV technician career path. It also promoted the inclusion of its technician training curriculum in high school career and technical education programs.

This outreach is part of a broader strategy by the institute to expand its technician training nationwide. Earlier this year, staff attended ACTE’s Region 3, Region 4, and Region 5 conferences with the same goal of building connections with school leaders and promoting program adoption.

“This event is a great opportunity for the RV Technical Institute to connect with school administrator attendees who are interested in incorporating our program into their high schools,” Kate Richardson, the RVTI’s Account Specialist, said in a News and Insights report of RVIA on September 18.

“Students who enroll in the course through their high schools could even become Level 1 certified by graduation. This is a great option for students who plan on a career in the skilled trades,” Richardson added.

The institute describes its training as the “gold standard” for RV technician education. By encouraging schools to integrate the program, it aims to help students graduate with industry-recognized skills and certification.

“Furthermore, from an RV industry standpoint, events like these remain crucial because spreading the word about the need for RV technicians is a key component of our mission to increase the number of Institute-certified technicians,” Richardson added.

“Along with providing a career option to students who are focused on the skilled trades, this initiative also helps more RVers get back on the road to their destinations faster,” Richardson noted.

The ACTE conference also provided professional development and networking opportunities for participants.

Attendees included educators and administrators from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, the Bahamas, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.
