GE Appliances, a company of Haier, announced the launch of new GE Profile™ gas ranges that are designed for use in recreational vehicles (RVs), according to a press release. This recent addition to the GE Profile™ product line aims to enhance the RV cooking experience by providing the performance and convenience of traditional home ranges in a mobile setting.
“The GE Appliances engineering team leveraged its heritage and expertise as a leading cooking manufacturer to deliver a range line-up with reliable cooking performance and user-friendly controls in their home away from home,” Mark Slaven, director of product management and cooking at GE Appliances, said.
RV enthusiasts often face challenges with home-cooked meals due to the limitations of conventional RV-ready ranges. These limitations often result in extended cooking times or the inability to prepare certain dishes. In response, GE Profile™ has introduced a range that delivers the same cooking results as those of a traditional at-home range.
“As we continue to see advancements in comfort and technology in recreational vehicles, we’re excited to drive efficiency and convenience by offering a high-quality cooking experience. With these new ranges, consumers can explore all types of meals and expect the same results on the road,” Slaven said.
The development of these ranges came from research conducted by GE Profile™ product managers and food scientists. The research focused on identifying the types of meals RV owners typically prepare at home and wish to cook while traveling, including cookies and cinnamon rolls.
A feature of the new GE Profile™ ranges is their electric ignition system, which operates similarly to residential gas ranges. The design of the ranges shows aesthetics and functionality, featuring cast metal, backlit knobs, and edge-to-edge grates
The ranges also include features such as a 12V DC rating for compatibility with RV power systems, continuous black matte grates, white backlit knobs, nickel oven racks with adjustable positions, and an easy-clean enamel oven.
The GE Profile™ RV ranges are available in multiple sizes, including 12″ and 21” Rangetops as well as 17” and 21” Drop-In Gas Ranges, ensuring a perfect fit for different RV layouts. These models are offered with a two-year warranty and come in black and stainless finishes, catering to diverse aesthetic preferences.
