Snowbirds Set to Discover a Revamped RVing Experience in Florida and Alabama

Florida and Alabama are rolling out the red carpet for snowbirds this year, with a slew of new, expanding, and revamped RV parks and resorts. This surge in development is not just a testament to the states’ commitment to enhancing the traveler experience but also a nod to the private campground owners and operators who are at the forefront of this transformation.

Florida, a perennial favorite among snowbirds, is leading the charge with a series of new and expanding RV parks and resorts. Alabama, not to be left behind, is also upping its game, adding a range of amenities that promise to make snowbird stays even more memorable.

Bobby Cornwell, president and CEO of the Florida and Alabama RV Park and Campground Association, couldn’t be more optimistic. “RV resorts in Florida and Alabama keep getting bigger and better,” he remarked. This evolution is a clear indication of the private sector’s role in shaping the RV landscape in these states. Private campground owners and operators are investing heavily in infrastructure, amenities, and services, ensuring that snowbirds have a plethora of options to choose from.

Among the new entrants, Dreamin’ n’ Driftin’ RV Resort in Lake City stands out with its scenic 100-site park, set to open doors on October 1. Not far behind is the Panhandle RV Resort in Gretna, which, with its 217 sites, promises to be a game-changer when it opens in late 2024.

Existing parks are not resting on their laurels either. Bay Bayou RV Resort in Tampa and Breezy Oaks RV Park in Bushnell are expanding, adding premium sites and amenities that cater to the discerning traveler.

Several parks, including the Coastal River RV Resort in Steinhatchie and Fisherman’s Cove RV Resort in Palmetto, are undergoing significant improvements. These range from utility upgrades to the addition of new amenities, ensuring that snowbirds have a seamless and enhanced stay.

The resurgence in the RV park and resort sector can be attributed in large part to private campground owners and operators. Their commitment to quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction has played a pivotal role in shaping the RV experience in Florida and Alabama. By constantly upgrading facilities, adding new amenities, and ensuring top-notch services, they are setting new benchmarks in the industry.

Moreover, these private entities are also actively collaborating with state associations, leveraging platforms like CampFlorida.com and CampInAlabama.com to reach a wider audience. Such synergies are not only boosting the profile of individual parks and resorts but also enhancing the overall appeal of Florida and Alabama as premier RV destinations.

As snowbirds chart their course for Florida and Alabama, they can look forward to an RV experience like never before.
