Newly-Opened Campground in Polk County to Offer Expanded RV and Primitive Camping Options

The Lake Rosalie Park Campground in Polk County (Florida) will reopen to the public tomorrow (Friday, Oct. 17), offering both RV and primitive camping options for visitors.

Operated by Polk County Parks and Recreation, the reopening marks the return of a popular outdoor destination for campers and boaters in the Lake Wales area.

Located at 2925 Rosalie Lake Road, just east of Lake Wales, the campground features 20 RV sites and six primitive camping sites.

Amenities include restrooms, picnic tables, and a boat launching site, catering to both short-term campers and local outdoor enthusiasts.

According to an article published by Lake Wales News on October 15, campers can access the park from State Road 60 through Tiger Creek Road, turning left on Lake Rosalie Road.

Facilities at the campground include partial hookups with 50-, 30-, and 20-amp electrical service, water, a dump station, and flush restrooms with showers.

The park provides a blend of convenience and natural surroundings for guests seeking an accessible outdoor experience.

The boat ramp will be open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., giving visitors ample opportunity to enjoy Lake Rosalie’s fishing and boating activities. The extended hours are expected to attract both day users and overnight campers looking for flexible recreation options.

Online reservations for the campground reopened Tuesday, Oct. 14, for stays beginning Oct. 17, with check-ins starting at noon. The online system allows guests to secure sites up to a year in advance.

Visitors who prefer to pay in person can still do so using cash or check. However, same-day reservations made on-site will depend on current campsite availability.

With its proximity to Lake Wales and nearby natural areas, Lake Rosalie Park Campground serves as a convenient stop for RV travelers and a weekend destination for local residents. Its combination of boat access, basic amenities, and natural setting appeals to a broad range of campers.

The reopening of Lake Rosalie Park Campground reinforces Polk County’s commitment to providing accessible, affordable outdoor recreation opportunities for residents and visitors alike.
