Moore Haven KOA Holiday in Florida will host its first annual Fall Festival Pumpkin Patch and Halloween Bash, a month-long series of seasonal activities scheduled from October 5 through November 2 in Glades County.
The event is designed to combine family entertainment with community support, raising funds for Croskeykidz Summer Camp Inc., a nonprofit that provides free summer programming for local children.
The Pumpkin Patch will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., offering rows of pumpkins for carving, decorating, or baking.
Visitors will also be able to shop for fall décor and take seasonal photographs throughout the grounds.
Weekend programming will include Haunted Houses and a Haunted Walk, planned to deliver age-appropriate thrills for children and adults. These attractions will run each weekend in October and lead into Halloween week.
The festival will culminate on October 31 with the Halloween Bash, held from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the campground. The evening will feature a campsite decorating contest, costume contest, carnival-style concessions, and a vendor market with local businesses. Games and activities will also be offered for families.
Organizers said the festival’s purpose goes beyond recreation. “We’re so proud to be part of an event that not only brings our community together for a fun fall tradition but also supports a cause that is vital to our neighbors,” said John Fugate, Moore Haven KOA Holiday team member.
“It’s a wonderful feeling to help create a space where families can make lasting memories while contributing to such an important local nonprofit,” Fugate added.
All proceeds from the Pumpkin Patch will support Croskeykidz Summer Camp Inc., which operates in Glades County. The organization emphasizes outdoor recreation, creative exploration, and personal development for children who may not otherwise have access to structured summer programs.
Terea Zimmer, park Manager at Moore Haven KOA Holiday, said the campground views the partnership as an opportunity to strengthen community ties.
“We’re proud to support Croskeykidz Summer Camp through our fall events,” Zimmer said. “These celebrations not only bring families together for seasonal fun but also help strengthen an organization that creates meaningful opportunities and lasting memories for local children.”
The collaboration between the campground and the summer camp reflects the role of outdoor hospitality businesses in supporting local initiatives. Through seasonal programming, Moore Haven KOA Holiday aims to create a fundraising stream for the camp while attracting visitors to the area.
Moore Haven KOA Holiday, located at 17192 US Hwy 27 in Moore Haven, operates year-round. Reservations for camping during the festival can be made online or through the KOA App.
