Florida’s Retroville Reimagines the RV Experience With Classic Car Culture

A new retro-themed RV park in Freeport, Florida, is drawing attention from RV travelers seeking a nostalgic roadside experience.

Retroville RV Park, which opened recently along the Gulf Coast, immerses guests in a 1960s-style setting inspired by drive-in movie theaters and classic American car culture.

Styled to resemble a vintage drive-in complete with a replica 1960s gas station and a Hollywood memorabilia museum, Retroville blends mid-century décor with waterfront camping amenities.

The park is located a short drive from Destin and the scenic Highway 30A, a region popular among tourists.

According to a press release, the campground features waterfront RV sites, retro signage reminiscent of Route 66, and unique attractions including a 1965 golf cart and campsite numbers carved in rock in the style of the Flintstones.

Guests can also view antique gas pumps and golf carts modified to look like classic Hot Wheels cars.

Retroville RV Park is the brainchild of Dowlin and Denese, former entertainment industry professionals who spent 20 years with MCA/Universal.

“Throughout our careers in the entertainment field, we have had the chance to meet and work with many classic TV and movie stars and have amassed a large collection of classic TV and movie collectibles and props from Hollywood,” they said.

Their personal collection now forms the basis of the on-site Hollywood Museum, which features autographs and memorabilia from 1960s films and television series. The museum is open to park guests and serves as a central attraction of the campground.

“We enjoy meeting all kinds of RVers at our little campground by the beach and showing them our park and surrounding area,” the press release indicates.

With over 30 years of RVing experience, the owners designed the park to accommodate a wide range of RV sizes and types.

Retroville has also already received a five-star rating on Google.
