Industry role models rise to the top not by sheer luck, but through perseverance, purpose, and passion. To celebrate members of the industry who have exemplified unwavering commitment, the Florida and Alabama RV Park and Campground Association is introducing the Alan R. Wallace “Mark of Excellence ” Award.
In its latest member email, the trade group said that the award was formed to honor “individuals in the industry that have demonstrated outstanding support and dedication to the improvement and growth of the Florida and Alabama RV Park and Campground Association and the outdoor hospitality industry.”
The first-ever Alan R. Wallace Award of Excellence recipient will be celebrated at the 2023 conference in Daytona Beach to be held from May 8 through 11.
Alan Wallace currently serves as past chair. He is also a longstanding board member of the association and has served as a chairman of the board.
A long-time member of the industry, Wallace has developed and operated many first-class RV resort properties in Florida, making him influential in setting high standards and goals for the association. For over 15 years, he has played a huge role in the growth of the association and the industry.
“The association’s board of directors, along with support of many of the association’s campground and supplier members, feel that this award is a well-deserved tribute to Alan in appreciation for all that he has done and continues to do for the industry,” the statement reads.
Plans for the 2023 Florida and Alabama Outdoor Hospitality Conference and Expo are yet to be finalized. Still, the association recently announced that the group will return to Daytona Beach for the event to enjoy over 60,000 sq. ft. of indoor and outdoor meeting space overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
