Enhancing Pool Safety: CPO Certification Course Set for May 6-7 at Outdoor Hospitality Expo

Campground operators seeking to enhance pool safety and compliance will have an opportunity to earn Certified Pool & Spa Operator (CPO) certification at the 2025 Florida and Alabama Outdoor Hospitality Convention & Expo

The two-day course, scheduled for May 6-7 at Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando, Florida, will be led by Terry Munoz, a Certified Pool Operator Instructor and consultant at Campground Consulting Group with more than 35 years of experience.

The CPO certification, accredited by the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA), is widely recognized across the industry and is approved by state regulatory agencies.

More than 30,000 professionals obtain this certification annually, equipping them with the skills necessary to manage aquatic facilities safely and efficiently while adhering to health and safety regulations.

Participants will receive training on best practices for pool operations, including methods to reduce chemical, electrical, and physical hazards. The course will cover essential compliance standards and safety regulations designed to minimize liability risks and prevent closures due to health code violations.

Munoz, an experienced instructor in the outdoor hospitality industry, has dedicated his career to improving pool safety and operational efficiency. His expertise ensures that campground operators gain the necessary knowledge to maintain safe and compliant aquatic facilities.

The course will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6, and from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7, followed by the certification exam.

Registration for the CPO course is separate from the main convention registration, and the cost is $350 per person. The registration deadline is April 30. Campground operators interested in participating are encouraged to register early to secure their spot.

The training session will provide valuable insights into optimizing pool operations to save time and money while ensuring guest safety.

Operators will learn techniques to manage water quality effectively, prevent common pool issues, and enhance the overall experience for visitors.
