Crystal River City Council (Florida) voted 5-0 Monday to renew a modified planned unit development master plan for the 15.59-acre Crystal Bay RV Resort at 8172 W. Balloon Lane.

According to a report, the site will become a Kampgrounds of America (KOA) Holiday campground franchise featuring four tent sites and 68 RV pads.

Developer Jennifer Grissom reassured the council that the campground will not encourage long-term stays and won’t permit subleasing.

“We’re not looking for annual tenants,” she said. “That’s not where we’re going to make our money.”
