A Certified Pool & Spa Operator (CPO) training course will be offered May 6–7, at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando, Florida, during the Florida and Alabama Outdoor Hospitality Convention & Expo.
The two-day session is designed for campground and outdoor hospitality professionals seeking to enhance pool safety and regulatory compliance.
The course will be led by Terry Munoz, a certified pool operator instructor and consultant with Campground Consulting Group. Munoz brings more than 35 years of experience in pool operations and safety within the outdoor hospitality sector.
The CPO certification is accredited by the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA) and is widely recognized across the United States.
More than 30,000 individuals earn the credential annually, making it one of the most sought-after certifications for aquatic facility operators.
Participants in the course will learn how to operate pools more efficiently, reduce safety hazards, and ensure compliance with health regulations. The training also aims to help facility operators prevent pool closures and minimize the risk of code violations.
The training will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on May 6 and from 8 a.m. to noon on May 7. The certification exam will follow on the second day, with an expected duration of one to three hours.
The course costs $350 per person. Registration must be completed by April 30. The CPO course requires full attendance on both days and passing the exam to receive certification.
