The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently proposed new, stronger standards to reduce pollution caused by heavy-duty vehicles and engines starting in the model year 2027, which will decrease emissions of nitrogen oxides (Nox) from heavy-duty gasoline and diesel engines.
On May 5 at noon EDT and 6:30 PM EDT, EPA will host a virtual meeting that will summarize the serviceability and inducement (engine derate to “induce” proper DEF and SCR maintenance) proposals included in their emissions policy, as per the RV Industry Association’s News & Insights report.
The meeting is free and open to the public. Its purpose is to inform stakeholders about the details included in the proposal and describe the submission process for comments that EPA may consider during the proposal’s finalization.
During the meeting, EPA will not take live feedback. However, feedback and comments about the proposal can be submitted by May 16 to the rulemaking docket on regulations.gov.
