David Spader to Equip Dealers with Tools for Managing Emotions, Performance at RVDA Convention

Industry consultant David Spader will lead two professional development workshops at the 2025 RV Dealers Convention/Expo, focusing on helping RV dealers strengthen leadership effectiveness through improved emotional awareness and performance management processes.

Spader, founder of Potentia and an NCM partner, will guide attendees on how to manage their own emotions and better connect with team members to drive stronger results. 

The convention will be held November 10-14 at Paris Las Vegas, bringing together RVDA of the U.S., RVDA of Canada, and the Mike Molino RV Learning Center.

In his first session, “Effective Emotions: The Leader’s Secret Weapon,” scheduled for Tuesday, November 11, from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m., Spader will outline how leaders can use emotional intelligence to enhance workplace communication and engagement. The session will explore how emotions, when properly understood, can become valuable tools for leadership success.

“Emotions are often the source of tension and problems in many workplaces,” the session description noted. “But properly leveraged, leaders find them to be a powerful and necessary resource to engage and connect with their employees.”

The session will cover the three stages of the effective emotions process, offering participants strategies to improve how they manage both their own emotions and those of their teams. 

Attendees will also have the option to complete the Effective Emotions Index tool prior to the workshop to personalize their learning experience.

Spader’s second workshop, “The Three Components of Performance Management,” will also take place Wednesday, November 12, from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m. 

According to the session outline, Spader will highlight “three distinct components that should be completed annually to help employees perform at their highest potential.” 

Participants will also learn about the three key elements of performance evaluation, planning, and management. 

Both sessions align with the convention’s broader mission to support dealership personnel in enhancing operations and fostering leadership development. The RV Dealers Convention/Expo annually provides a platform for professional growth and industry collaboration.

The event offers educational sessions, networking opportunities, and access to leading suppliers in the Expo hall, designed to help dealerships improve sales, service, and customer satisfaction.

Attendees will gain insights from top trainers, executives, and peers across North America, with resources tailored to every dealership department.
