Cove Communities, a company in the manufactured housing and RV resort sectors, announced the appointment of James R. Goldman as chief executive officer. With over 30 years in commercial real estate, Goldman brings a wealth of experience, particularly in niche real estate markets such as manufactured housing, to support Cove’s expansion goals across North America.
Goldman’s appointment follows a thorough search process aimed at identifying a leader with deep expertise in real estate and operational growth. His background includes leading Goldman & Company, a real estate advisory firm catering to family offices, institutional investors, and various niche real estate segments. In his recent role, he was instrumental in guiding clients within manufactured housing, RV resorts, marinas, and parking.
From 2003 to mid-2018, Goldman served as vice chair and chief investment officer at Green Courte Partners, a private equity firm specializing in real estate. There, he played a key role in expanding American Land Lease, a portfolio company within the manufactured housing community space.
Montgomery Street Partners (MSP), Cove’s General Partner, expressed strong support for Goldman’s leadership. “Jim’s extensive experience within the manufactured housing community sector, combined with his acquisitions, operations, capital markets, and strategic planning expertise, will be greatly valued as Cove positions itself for future internal and external growth,” stated Murray McCabe, managing partner of MSP, in a press release.
Goldman’s professional journey began before real estate, with notable roles in investment banking and corporate law. Additionally, he worked as a corporate and securities attorney with Piper & Marbury (now DLA Piper).
A strong educational background complements Goldman’s experience. He attended the University of Virginia, obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Old Dominion University, and earned his Juris Doctor from William & Mary Law School.
