The Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) has expanded its lodging offerings with the introduction of Ööd Mirror Houses at Lake Bastrop South Shore Park, located approximately 40 minutes from Austin.
The accommodations opened in mid-May and are operated in partnership with Cameron Ranch Glamping.
The Ööd Mirror Houses, named The Hideaway and The Bloom, are situated in the park’s Lost Pines region. Each structure measures 221 square feet and features mirrored glass walls that provide natural views and exterior privacy.
Designed to appeal to modern travelers seeking upscale outdoor experiences, both units come with a queen-sized memory foam bed, kitchenette, walk-in shower, full bathroom, dining area, Wi-Fi, and air conditioning.
Heating will be available in the colder months. The homes are also pet-friendly, according to Culturemap Austin.
Guests staying in the Mirror Houses can access traditional camping amenities and outdoor recreation within Lake Bastrop South Shore Park.
Each unit includes a personal fire pit and grill. Park facilities include water-based activities such as kayaking, paddle boarding, canoeing, and fishing, as well as land-based options like hiking and biking trails, a mini-golf course, playgrounds, and a sand volleyball court. A camp store is also located on-site.
The location also offers convenient access to downtown Bastrop, about a 10-minute drive away. There, visitors can find restaurants, grocery stores, entertainment, and other services.
Bookings for the Ööd Mirror Houses are available online. Rates vary depending on the day, with prices starting just above $200 per night before fees and rising above $300 per night during peak periods.
For operators in the outdoor hospitality sector, the integration of Ööd Mirror Houses into a public park setting demonstrates a hybrid model of public-private partnership that may appeal to customers looking for both nature access and high-end amenities.
These compact, energy-efficient units also provide a glimpse into scalable glamping investments that balance comfort and conservation.
Businesses exploring expansion or enhancement of their lodging mix may benefit from considering similar structures, particularly in high-traffic recreational areas with access to urban markets.
The Ööd Mirror Houses are located at 375 S. Shore Rd., Bastrop, Texas.
