Collective Retreats Achieves B Corp Certification, Pioneering Sustainable, Inclusive Travel

As per a release, Collective Retreats, a pioneer in outdoor experiential hospitality, has been awarded the prestigious B Corp Certification, joining a select group of travel businesses worldwide that have achieved this distinction.

The B Corp Certification validates Collective Retreats’ unwavering commitment to environmental and social impact, transparency, and accountability, solidifying its position as a sustainable and inclusive travel leader.

Administered by the respected nonprofit organization B Lab, the B Corp Certification thoroughly reviews a company’s operations and business model, assessing their impact on workers, customers, communities, and the environment.

Collective Retreats has gone above and beyond to meet the high standards set by the B Impact Assessment, earning this esteemed certification.

In addition to being a Certified B Corporation, Collective Retreats is also a Public Benefit Corporation, which legally obligates the company to consider the environmental impact of its decisions beyond just shareholder interests. This unique corporate structure reflects Collective Retreats’ unwavering commitment to prioritizing sustainability and social responsibility in all aspects of its operations.

One of Collective Retreats’ recent sustainability initiatives is its partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation. For every stay booked at a Collective Retreats location, the company pledges to plant one tree, contributing to the fight against deforestation and climate change. This initiative is just one example of Collective Retreats’ innovative approach to sustainability and stewardship, demonstrating its dedication to making a positive impact on the environment and local communities.

“Tourism, particularly the hotel industry, is a remarkably challenging business and there is a serious lack of sustainable options that deliver innovative guest experiences while preserving the environment. Collective Retreats was created not only to disrupt the luxury hotel model but to help encourage existing and emerging brands to also adopt a mission-focused ethos that invests in communities, culture, and people,” said Founder & CEO Peter Mack.

“We are proud to be recognized for our values and initiatives and thrilled to be a part of the B Corp community of like-minded businesses, especially the small but impactful collection of those in the hospitality vertical. Our hope is that more organizations focus on environmental action and join the ranks of the B Corp platform to drive betterment within the travel industry,” Mack added.

Currently operating in unique destinations such as New York City’s Governors Island, Hill Country in Texas, and Vail in Colorado, Collective Retreats has reimagined the traditional hotel experience by creating intimate outdoor destination retreats. With exciting new product concepts and destinations in its development pipeline, Collective Retreats continues to push the boundaries of sustainable and inclusive travel.

As the company continues to pioneer sustainable and inclusive travel experiences, it sets an example for other businesses to follow, inspiring positive change and driving betterment within the industry.
