Giving Tuesday, scheduled for December 2, 2025, is expected to draw attention from communities, nonprofits, and businesses participating in the annual global day of charitable giving.
Among the organizations taking part is the Care Camps Foundation, a national nonprofit that funds medically supervised pediatric oncology camps across the United States and Canada. The group is using the occasion to raise support for children living with cancer who benefit from specialized outdoor camp programs.
According to the foundation, donations on Giving Tuesday help cover the cost of camp tuition, medical supplies, trained staffing, and the operational resources needed to ensure participation is provided at no cost to families.
Care Camps reports that its partner programs aim to offer children facing cancer a temporary reprieve from ongoing treatments and hospital visits through structured and medically supervised outdoor experiences.
The organization states that its mission is to “give joy, hope, and the healing power of the outdoors to children with cancer and their families at medically supervised pediatric oncology camps.”

Various giving options promoted ahead of Giving Tuesday include monthly contributions, workplace giving programs with employer matching, in-memoriam donations, and long-term planned giving opportunities.
Data released by the foundation shows more than $2 million was awarded to camps within the past year, supporting 117 pediatric oncology camps and reaching more than 41,000 children, parents and siblings.
Since its founding in 1984, Care Camps Foundation has expanded from assisting a small number of camps to supporting more than 120 programs and raising more than $26 million to date.
For professionals in the outdoor hospitality sector, the annual Giving Tuesday campaign reflects an ongoing connection between the camping industry and charitable initiatives that support medically vulnerable youth.
Many campgrounds, RV resorts, and outdoor accommodation operators have historically participated in fundraising efforts or awareness campaigns tied to Care Camps. These partnerships can strengthen community impact while reinforcing the role of outdoor recreation in therapeutic environments.
Care Camps continues to encourage participation in the December 2 event, noting that “every contribution, big or small, brings hope, joy, and healing to children who need it most.”
