CampVantage Live, a free weekly educational series for campground owners, RV park operators, and glamping resort managers, highlighted how artificial intelligence (AI) can support marketing strategies and enhance guest experiences in its December 9 session.
Hosted by Insider Perks Founder and CEO Brian Searl, the series helps outdoor hospitality professionals leverage AI, automation, and emerging technology to improve promotions, loyalty programs, and service offerings.
CampVantage Live offers an interactive forum where industry operators can discuss emerging tools, learn from peers, and address operational challenges in real time. Searl emphasized that staying informed on technology is critical as guest expectations evolve.
The session focused on AI’s potential to streamline operations, improve service, and drive revenue. Searl highlighted the growing role of robotics alongside AI, noting technologies like autonomous mowing machines capable of operating without a driver or crew.
Participants explored the potential of AI-powered delivery robots, already in use across South Florida, to provide convenience for large campgrounds. Searl framed these developments as opportunities for parks to expand guest services around the clock.
Flying vehicles were also discussed as a future mobility solution, allowing guests to travel with greater ease. “From our perspective, when it scales, you can take one of these taxis and fly like an Uber,” Searl said. “You can go camping with much greater ease.”
The session included applications of AI platforms such as Claude and ChatGPT for campground management, including music programming, marketing, and guest engagement tools.
Guests on the virtual stage included Teri Blaschke of Hidden Valley RV Park, who shared her experience using AI to design a loyalty program. “I ask it a lot of questions, and most recently put together a loyalty program. I am so impressed. I could not have done it myself,” she said.
Blaschke described the AI as a creative partner that suggested perks like advanced booking, cancellation flexibility, and personalized local guides. She credited AI with helping generate signage, marketing insights, and operational ideas tailored to her park.
Blaschke explained how she prompted AI to develop her campground’s loyalty program by providing detailed information about her park, including its focus on outdoor experiences, digital detox opportunities, availability, and the specific type of clientele it serves.
Randy Hendrickson, founder and CEO of EVOLVE Lodging and The Intrepid Group Hospitality Brokerage, also described using AI as a “virtual buddy” for real estate research, park model development, and modular home planning.
Hendrickson explained that AI helped identify suitable land for RV resorts by analyzing zoning and geographic data.
“You could do it if you had time and you knew what to ask. The productivity is just off-the-chart,” he said.
Both Hendrickson and Searl emphasized the importance of proper prompts to ensure accurate AI results, with Hendrickson citing latitude, zoning, and utility information as critical inputs for reliable outputs.
CampVantage Live also highlighted AI tools for website design, demonstrating applications that integrate interactive maps and land listings.
Attendees explored coding solutions and content generation for campground marketing and operational support, including the AI platform Manus, which they used to build an interactive website with Google Maps and pricing for 10-acre properties within a 40-mile radius of Tyler, Texas.
The program also presented live demonstrations of AI-driven package building, using Claude to generate accommodations, service descriptions, and marketing copy for campgrounds or RV parks.
