Campspot Launches Long-Term Stay Referral Pilot to Help Campgrounds Manage Extended Guests

Campspot, a campground management and reservation software provider, announced a pilot Long-Term Stay Referral Program designed to help parks connect with campers seeking monthly and seasonal stays.

The initiative provides a “no-cost referral channel” for participating parks and strengthens Campspot’s broader long-term stay offerings for operators.

Campspot’s new program introduces a dedicated Long-Term Stay microsite, allowing campers to browse extended-stay destinations by state or province and submit inquiries directly to participating parks.

“Many campgrounds rely on long-term guests as a core part of their business, but online tools for managing that demand have been limited,” Josh Traxler, COO at Campspot, said in a press release.

“By piloting a referral channel and developing broader long-term stay solutions, Campspot is making it easier for operators to capture and serve this important segment,” Traxler added.

The program is currently available to existing Campspot parks at no additional cost. Operators can learn more or request a demo at campspot.com/long-term.

Campspot’s Special Edition of the Data Dig: 2026 Occupancy Outlook also shows a slight year-over-year increase in reservations of 28 days or longer, indicating “continued health, and even growth, in the extended-stay category.”

Long-term stays have become revenue “stabilizers” for many parks, particularly in southern regions where they help fill shoulder and off-season gaps that transient guests cannot cover.

“In markets with strong destination appeal or where guests combine remote work and leisure, extended stays appear to be nudging upward once again. In short, the demand is there, and operators are looking for the right tools to capture it,” the Campspot’s press release adds.

The Long-Term Stay Referral Program is part of Campspot’s broader investment in long-term stay capabilities, complementing platform features like flexible pricing tools, reservation management for multi-month stays, and advanced analytics.

By linking short-term and long-term demand, Campspot aims to provide a unified system that supports all guest types, from weekend campers to seasonal residents.

“This pilot reflects Campspot’s approach to innovation: listen, test, and build alongside our customers,” Traxler said.

“We’re paying attention to the evolving needs of our parks and delivering software that helps them adapt and thrive,” Traxler adds.

Operators can integrate the referral program into existing Campspot workflows without additional setup, reducing administrative burden while expanding marketing reach for long-term stays.

Campspot serves more than 3,300 private and public parks across the United States and Canada, offering a combination of reservation management, business analytics, and integrations that streamline park operations.
