Campspot has announced an expanded integration of artificial intelligence tools with Insider Perks, introducing a phone-based booking and support system that operates around the clock.
The update builds on the AI-powered chat feature launched earlier this year, with the new functionality allowing guests to complete reservations entirely over the phone at any time of day.
“This integration aligns with our mission to deliver best-in-class tools that drive operational efficiency and exceptional guest experiences,” said Michael Scheinman, CEO of Campspot.
“We’re meeting guests where they are—whether that’s on chat or the phone—and giving operators more ways to grow without growing their workload.”
The AI phone agent functions through a real-time connection with Campspot’s inventory, pricing, and rules engine. Callers can ask questions, check availability, and secure a booking without speaking to staff directly.
Payments are processed by sending guests a PCI-compliant link via text message, ensuring secure transactions. The system also allows campgrounds to define fallback options, such as transferring calls to staff during office hours or to voicemail after hours.
“This isn’t your average phone tree,” said Brian Searl, founder & CEO of Insider Perks.
“We’ve built a smart, flexible voice assistant that understands campground operations, speaks naturally, and gets guests the information they need or the site they want—without the hold music.”
CRR Hospitality is the first operator to adopt the service, launching it at Verde Ranch RV Resort in Camp Verde, Arizona.
According to the company, additional CRR properties are expected to implement the system in the coming months.
“We’ve seen guests complete bookings in minutes over the phone, even in the middle of the night,” said Mike Harrison, COO of CRR Hospitality. “It’s a game-changer for reducing missed calls and freeing up staff for more impactful, on-site interactions.”
For outdoor hospitality businesses, the development reflects a broader trend toward automation that addresses staffing challenges while improving guest convenience.
By reducing missed reservations and eliminating manual entry errors, AI-powered systems may help parks increase revenue while minimizing operational costs.
The technology could be particularly useful for campgrounds with limited front-desk hours or high call volumes during peak season.
Future updates are expected to extend the system’s capabilities, including support for cancellations, modifications, and potential new revenue streams.
Campspot noted that parks must be Insider Perks customers and use a Campspot plan with API access to enable the feature.
Campspot currently serves more than 3,000 private and public parks across the U.S. and Canada, while Insider Perks provides marketing and AI solutions tailored to the outdoor hospitality sector.
