Camping World Names Matthew Wagner CEO Effective January 1, 2026

Camping World Holdings Inc. said in a December 8 update that President Matthew Wagner will succeed Marcus Lemonis as chief executive officer effective January 1, 2026, following Lemonis’ retirement at year-end.

The leadership transition includes board changes, with Brent Moody set to become chairman of the board on the same date.

Lemonis will step down as CEO, chairman, and a member of the board on December 31, 2025, and will continue with the company as co-founder and special advisor, the company said.

Wagner will also join Camping World’s board of directors on January 1, 2026.

“Founding and building this Company has been the greatest accomplishment of my life,” Marcus Lemonis said in a statement included in the company’s December 8, 2025 press release.

“RVing continues to be the lifestyle of choice for millions of Americans, and this Company was built to sit in the center of it all. I will continue to work closely with the Board, Matt, and the leadership team not only as a co-founder, but as an interested advisor and meaningful long-term shareholder, always focused on value creation.”

Wagner has served as Camping World’s president since July 2024 and previously held the role of chief operating officer from January 2023 to July 2024.

He joined the company in 2007 and has held multiple senior leadership roles spanning sales, marketing, and corporate development.

“Marcus’s vision shaped Camping World into the industry leader it is today,” Wagner said. “I’m honored to step into the role of CEO and excited to build on our market-leading position, relationships, and momentum we’ve created.”

Moody, who has served on Camping World’s board since May 2018 and as vice chairman since May 2025, will assume the chairman role on January 1, 2026, the company said. Moody previously held executive roles, including president and chief operating and legal officer.

The company did not disclose additional details about changes to operational strategy tied to the leadership shift.

For RV dealers, the transition signals continuity in leadership drawn from within Camping World’s existing executive team. Wagner’s background overseeing operations and sales may indicate a continued focus on dealership performance, service operations, and integration across Camping World’s retail network, though the company did not outline specific dealer-facing initiatives.

The company did not disclose whether the leadership change would result in adjustments to dealer programs, inventory strategies, or brand alignment across its Camping World and Good Sam businesses.

Camping World operates RV sales and service locations in 44 states and is publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker CWH.
