Thousands of campground operators across the U.S. are seeing a spike in visibility and bookings just weeks after Hipcamp expanded its platform to include a broader inventory of sites.
The company created free listings for thousands of campgrounds, enabling operators to claim their profiles and begin accepting reservations.
The expansion marks a significant step in Hipcamp’s effort to simplify how campers discover and book campsites nationwide.
Campground owners can now claim their automatically generated listings, a process that the company says enhances booking capabilities and listing control.
Operators who have verified their listings are already reporting noticeable results. Verified campgrounds gain full access to features such as direct bookings, calendar integration, and profile editing—tools that are helping drive early success.
“To our surprise, we received three Hipcamp reservation requests in one day,” said Astrid, owner of Dog Mountain RV Park in Washington.
“I immediately went back online to add more pictures and information, and since then, we’ve received many more reservations. Overall, it’s been a huge success for us,” Astrid added.
Dog Mountain RV Park was included in Hipcamp’s recent listing rollout. According to Astrid, the platform began generating interest almost immediately after she claimed and verified her property.
Ellen, who operates the family-owned Woods Landing Resort in Wyoming, also saw benefits from the integration.
“The number of people that have found us through Hipcamp—I’m pleasantly surprised and thankful,” she said.
“With Hipcamp, I still feel like I have control over how I run my business, and that’s really important to us,” she noted.
She added that Hipcamp’s compatibility with her existing ResNexus system made the platform particularly easy to use. The added convenience of detailed guest information has also helped with remote check-ins.
For others, the platform has offered a timely boost amid changing travel trends.
“Our area has been heavily affected by fewer Canadians traveling,” said Jenna from Pinederosa Campground in Maine.
“I figured it couldn’t hurt to try a new platform—and I’m surprised at how many bookings I’ve received in such a short period of time,” Jenna added.
Hipcamp says its platform is flexible enough to work with both manual reservation systems and digital booking tools, allowing campground operators to manage their business in the way that suits them best.
