The Lake Almanor Area Chamber of Commerce will host a grand opening celebration for Cedar Lodge & RV Park on July 18, inviting the public to an evening of food, family-friendly entertainment, and outdoor activities.
The event begins at 6 p.m. at 1487 County Road 324 in Chester, California.
Organizers said the Elks Lodge will provide a barbecue featuring hamburgers and hot dogs, while attendees can cool off with treats from the Kona Ice truck.
“After long days and early mornings getting everything ready. This is what progress looks like. We’ve been working hard as a family to bring Cedar Lodge & RV Park back to life—and now it’s time to celebrate,” the campground indicates in a Facebook post.
As part of the celebration, the park will screen the 1987 film Harry and the Hendersons after sunset, offering a nostalgic outdoor movie experience under the stars.
Cedar Lodge & RV Park recently underwent a series of upgrades to restore and modernize the property. Located just half a mile from Lake Almanor, the park offers nine rooms and 15 full-hookup RV sites in a wooded setting near Lassen National Forest.
The grand opening marks a significant milestone for the family-run business, which emphasizes its role as a basecamp for outdoor recreation in the region. The property is designed to serve both overnight guests and the surrounding community.
Recent social media posts from the park highlight a focus on hospitality and recreation, with references to fishing, paddleboarding, and campfire gatherings.
In addition to traditional RV amenities, the lodge offers access to nearby trails, lakeshore activities, and year-round natural attractions. Its proximity to Lake Almanor makes it a convenient location for boating, swimming, and fishing.
