C.A.M.P. Meeting to Feature Professional Development and Industry Updates

The Campground Association for Management Professionals (C.A.M.P.) will hold its final meeting of the year on Dec. 2 in Branson, Mo., bringing state association executives together ahead of the Campground Owners Expo.

The session is scheduled at the Hilton Branson Convention Center, the same venue as the annual industry gathering.

The timing places the C.A.M.P. meeting one day before the expo, offering association leaders the chance to engage in discussions, professional development, and networking before joining campground operators for the larger event.

According to a press release, Laura Simmons, a certified association executive with Impact Association Management in Madison, Wis., is set to keynote the meeting.

She will address membership recruitment and management strategies being used successfully by associations in other sectors across the country.

“We want our meeting to provide an opportunity for professional development beyond our industry discussions and Laura will help us provide that educational component,” said Michael Moore, C.A.M.P.’s president.

In addition to the keynote, legislative priorities will be a central topic. Association leaders plan to review policy wins for private campgrounds in 2025 and explore how similar results might be pursued in other states.

Technical updates are also on the agenda. The RV Industry Association (RVIA) is expected to brief attendees on new National Electric Code requirements related to grounding monitor interrupters, outlining the implications for campground operations.

Go RVing will share details on the RV-250 media campaign for 2026. The campaign is designed to raise visibility for camping and RV travel while highlighting opportunities for independently owned and operated parks.

Financial savings and group purchasing initiatives will be presented by Hospitality Connections. The alliance provides discount programs to campground associations nationwide, with the goal of leveraging buying power to reduce costs and expand member benefits.

Marketing approaches will also be discussed, with state associations exchanging ideas on new initiatives aimed at building membership and increasing engagement within the industry.

Following the formal meeting, C.A.M.P. will host a networking happy hour with vendors. Sponsored by RVIA, the mixer is intended to give executives and vendors a chance to connect directly.

Executives interested in attending can register through the C.A.M.P. website at campgroundexecutives.com.
