Blue Water has launched a partnership with Make-A-Wish Philadelphia, Delaware & Susquehanna Valley to raise funds and awareness for children with critical illnesses through its Delaware-based properties.
The initiative will engage guests and staff in supporting the foundation’s efforts to grant life-changing wishes.
The campaign features co-branded marketing and donation tools across Blue Water’s properties, including the Bay Resort Waterfront Hotel, Jellystone Park at Delaware Beaches, and Sun Outdoors Rehoboth Bay.
On-site signage, including scannable QR codes, will guide visitors toward making donations.
Blue Water is also introducing a booking feature that enables guests to add a donation to Make-A-Wish during checkout, streamlining the giving process. This fundraising approach is designed to make charitable contributions convenient and accessible for visitors.
“This partnership goes far beyond fundraising. It’s about standing alongside an organization whose mission transforms lives,” Todd Burbage, CEO of Blue Water, said in a press release.
“At Blue Water, we believe in creating meaningful moments, and aligning with Make-A-Wish Delaware allows us to extend that impact to children and families facing extraordinary challenges,” Burbage added.
The initiative highlights the story of Leo, a 7-year-old from Sussex County who battled leukemia. His wish to visit the Georgia Aquarium was fulfilled by Make-A-Wish, showcasing the emotional and therapeutic value of wish-granting for children undergoing medical treatment.
“The collaboration reflects Blue Water’s continued commitment to giving back to the communities where it operates. Through shared storytelling, staff engagement, and guest participation, this partnership will help fuel wishes that bring strength, laughter, and renewed hope to children throughout Delaware,” the press release indicates.
Blue Water, founded in 2002, owns and manages resort properties across the East Coast and has expanded westward to Texas, Montana, and Oregon. Its operational model includes a focus on community enrichment and charitable involvement.
Make-A-Wish Philadelphia, Delaware & Susquehanna Valley has granted more than 8,400 wishes since 1986. The foundation is part of the global Make-A-Wish network, which grants over 25 wishes daily nationwide.
