Blue Compass RV Reports Higher Sales as RVIA Holiday Travel Projections Shape Outlook

A November 15 Fox Business report highlighted higher sales activity at Blue Compass RV, where founder and CEO Jon Ferrando reported gains in new and used RV sales.

The update, paired with data from the RV Industry Association’s Holiday Travel Intention Survey, offers dealers and manufacturers additional context as they assess consumer interest heading into 2026.

Ferrando told Fox Business that new RV sales at Blue Compass RV are up 17 percent in 2025, while used RV sales have increased more than 20 percent in recent months.

“People are in control. They don’t have to go to the airport. It’s just a great way to travel,” Ferrando said in the November 15 interview. He linked the sales momentum to lower fuel costs and what he described as minimal tariff impacts on his business.

He also highlighted buyer interest in features such as solar capability, onboard Wi-Fi, Starlink compatibility, and pet-friendly layouts.

These preferences reflect trends seen in the RV Industry Association’s Holiday Travel Intention Survey, which found that 28 million Americans plan to travel by RV this winter, including 9 million over Thanksgiving and 7 million during Christmas.

The survey shows continued interest among prospective buyers, with 39 percent of leisure travelers saying they plan to take an RV trip in the next year and 26 percent considering purchasing an RV in 2026.

Younger consumers remain a notable segment, with 35 percent of Gen Z and 32 percent of Millennials expressing interest in buying an RV.

Ferrando said that “almost 100%” of the RVs sold by Blue Compass RV are assembled in the United States, most in northern Indiana. The RV capital produces nearly 86 percent of all RVs for the United States and Canada.

Blue Compass RV is expanding its dealership network, with new locations under development in Kentucky and Florida, the acquisition of a store in Georgia, and plans to open an Airstream dealership in Virginia.
