Arvie Offers Free “Solo Scan” to Help Campers Book Sold-Out Sites Ahead of July 4 Weekend

Arvie, an online travel platform focused on campground bookings, is offering its new “Solo Scan” service free of charge to all U.S. campers through the Fourth of July weekend.

The promotion gives travelers access to real-time scans for cancellations at sold-out campgrounds, enabling automatic bookings without requiring a subscription.

The Solo Scan system normally costs $4 per scan and checks for cancellations every two minutes across select campgrounds.

Once a cancellation appears, Arvie’s live-agent booking team acts immediately to reserve the spot. The company’s goal for the holiday weekend is to help at least families secure campsites they previously believed were unavailable.

“We’re waiving the already low $4 Solo Scan fee, and challenging everyone to pick three campgrounds where they’d love to spend this coming 4th of July weekend,” Mark Petersen, Arvie’s founder and CEO, said in a press release.

“Arvie was built to put more people into the state and national parks they love — more often — to enjoy the beauty of our country,” Petersen said.

The launch underscores Arvie’s broader innovation: a booking engine that combines 36 fragmented systems into one platform, offering users access to more than 4,700 campgrounds and 258,000 instant-book sites across the United States and Canada.

This represents three times the instant-book inventory of any other platform, according to the company.

Campers can scan up to three sold-out campgrounds at once, select fixed or flexible dates, and apply filters such as length of stay, hookups, or accessibility needs.

The system operates continuously for 30 days, allowing AutoBook to function while users sleep or are offline.

User feedback has been largely positive. “Arvie works as advertised. It booked a camping spot for me in Watchman Campground in Zion National Park about 2 weeks before my visit,” said camper Cherie Glascock.

Arvie’s platform is designed to meet the evolving needs of campers, especially during peak travel periods when high-demand parks and campgrounds often reach capacity.
