Whiskey Ridge RV Park and Campground officially opened its gates in Dadeville, Alabama, offering visitors a mix of full-service RV amenities, outdoor activities, and communal spaces designed to enhance the local outdoor experience.
The new campground, with co-owners John Howell and Bobby Cagle, showcases a destination that blends comfort with access to the region’s natural attractions.
The area also features three full bathhouses, including one fully compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act, along with a laundromat equipped with three washer and dryer sets.
Wi-fi coverage is provided at every 10 posts, ensuring connectivity for guests. A store on-site carries essentials, including insect repellent, detergent, and over-the-counter medication.
“Beyond that, there is a pavilion for community use with a community fire pit and then access to the (Deadening Alpine Trail), hiking and a fishing pond,” Howell said, as reported by The Record Tallapoosa Publisher on November 22. “[There are also] some activities around that—games, canoes.”
The campground currently supports RV visitors but may expand to include cabins in the future. Howell said guest feedback will guide the next phase of development.
“He had a dream of opening a campground and I got to know him through my wife Lacey doing some residential sales in the area,” Howell said.
“He asked us if we wanted to be partners with him one day and we said absolutely after hearing his spiel on how great campgrounds are and how great the people that come to them are,” Howell added.
Booking at Whiskey Ridge can be completed online through the campground’s website, which utilizes Campspot’s reservation software to manage stays efficiently.
The campground’s location on 75 Whiskey Ridge Road provides easy access to nearby trails, fishing areas, and lakefront views, positioning it as a destination for outdoor recreation in Alabama.
