Kim Mulkey, the property manager, has been pivotal in transforming the resort into a lively gathering spot. “There aren’t enough hotels here for everybody who wants to come in,” Mulkey said. “Hotel rates are outrageous for a weekend. We make it cost-efficient for people to have an RV here just for football season.”

Beyond football, the resort hosts various events, including concerts and potluck dinners, fostering a sense of community.

“We’re always trying to do something that not only entertains our guests but gives them another reason to get together,” Mulkey shared. “Here, they have a chance to really get to know each other and feel a part of the community.”

The resort’s management uses CampLife Reservation Software for efficient operation. This tool aids in guest communication through features like SMS text messaging.

“We tell people to give us all the numbers where they want to be reached,” Mulkey explained. “It’s an amazing tool for us to communicate with our guests instantly.”

Nicole Tedder, accounting & customer success coach of CampLife emphasized the tailored solutions provided to University Station.

“University Station recruited CampLife to build unique rates and invoicing processes that make creating reservations for 800 sites as seamless as possible,”

The resort’s approach is a blend of modern technology and traditional hospitality. “We’re proud to see how University Station offers an amazing experience for their guests,” Tedder added.

This model is an inspiration for other parks in the outdoor hospitality industry, demonstrating a sustainable approach to campground management.

Founded in 2006 by Tyler and Jackie Duffy, CampLife has been a key player in the campground industry, supporting over 700 parks in the U.S. and Canada. With 72 million camper nights booked since its inception, the company is a significant contributor to the industry.

University Station RV Resort’s story offers insights for campground and outdoor hospitality operators. Emphasizing community engagement and efficient technology use can lead to a thriving business.
