Cypress Landing RV Park on Gantt Lake received recognition as a certified butterfly sanctuary by the North American Butterfly Association (NABA) and designated as a certified stop on the Rosalynn Carter Butterfly Trail. This recognition places Cypress Landing among locations dedicated to fostering habitats that support pollinators.
The sanctuary at Cypress Landing features three distinct butterfly garden areas within the 34-acre community. These gardens provide a rich habitat filled with nectar-producing plants, offering an ideal environment for butterflies to thrive.
The efforts to create a thriving butterfly habitat have a positive impact on the campground’s new community garden. The flourishing garden, benefiting from the presence of pollinators, produces an abundance of vegetables. Cypress Landing provides these fresh, free vegetables to the residents of the campground.
According to an article published by The Andalusia Star News on July 25, owner Brody Brown expressed excitement about receiving the certification from NABA and joining the Rosalynn Carter Butterfly Trail.
“Our goal is to create a community where both people and wildlife can flourish. This sanctuary was created through hard work and love of nature by the Cypress Garden Club led by Will and Carol Asken,” Brown explained.
Cypress Landing RV Park attracts both short and extended stay guests. Gantt Lake offers fishing, hunting, boating, and other water sports, providing a serene getaway close to town and the attractions of the Gulf Coast. The park is also pet-friendly and conveniently located on Hwy 29, about 12 miles from Andalusia.
Cypress Landing boasts 63 spacious, fully equipped RV sites, including pull-thru and back-in options. Each site accommodates both an RV and a car, featuring a picnic table and patio area for outdoor enjoyment. Guests can also access electric hook-ups, water, sewer, free Wi-Fi, and cable TV at all sites, ensuring a comfortable and connected stay.
For those without an RV, two cozy cabins are available, each with two bedrooms and modern amenities to accommodate up to five guests. The cabins are fully furnished, including a well-equipped kitchen, modern bathroom, linens, flat-screen cable TV, and Wi-Fi. Additionally, tent camping showcases spacious sites featuring fire rings, access to clean restrooms and showers, and even free tents for newcomers.
