Bear Creek Approves Expansion of Twin Forks Campground

According to a local report, Alabama’s Bear Creek town has approved the expansion of the popular Twin Forks Campground, increasing the number of camping sites to 94.

The new expansion includes on-water and off-water sites with electricity hookups, as well as primitive sites with no electricity hookups, providing campers with a variety of options to choose from.

The expansion was necessary due to the consistent increase in campers and high demand for camping spots, according to Mayor Rob Taylor.

In addition to the expansion, the town of Bear Creek is also planning to add a few daily camping sites to accommodate those in the local area.

The increase in camping sites has also led to an increase in the number of campers on the call list, according to Twin Forks Campground Manager Melissa Taylor.

Due to the rising power costs, the council has decided to increase the fees for camping spots that provide 50-amp power hookups.

The fees for water-front 50-amp sites have increased from $375 to $400 per month, while the fees for off-water 50-amp sites have increased from $325 to $350 per month. There was no increase in fees for 30-amp spots.

The annual drawing for campsite locations will be held on Saturday, February 18, at noon, at the Bobby Bishop Community Center.

The drawing is designed for campers to receive a monthly spot, with the camper who draws the number one having the first choice of a site.

Weekend campers will receive sites on a first-come, first-served basis. Only two family members per household will be allowed at the drawing, with police monitoring the crowd.

The expansion of Twin Forks Campground is expected to provide campers with a wider range of options and improved facilities, as well as bring in more revenue for the town.

The increased fees for 50-amp sites are a reflection of the rising power costs and will help sustain the campground’s operations.

The addition of new camping sites and improved facilities are expected to enhance the camping experience for visitors and provide a boost to the local economy.
