AGS Guest Guides, published by the Texas-based AGS, are helping extend guest stays and enhance camper experiences. According to a recent survey of more than 4,800 RV travelers, 58% of respondents indicated that products and services featured in AGS Guest Guides improved or lengthened their stay.
Survey results also revealed that AGS Guest Guides play a significant role in encouraging campers to explore local areas beyond the campgrounds. 78% of respondents who stayed at campgrounds for two or more nights reported leaving the premises to make purchases, utilize services, or visit nearby attractions.
Moreover, the guides appear to hold ongoing value for campers, with 77% of survey participants reporting they kept the guides even after their stay ended.
According to a press release, AGS President and CEO Brian Schaeffer emphasized the guides’ importance in enhancing the camping experience, pointing out their value as a source of information that can influence guests to stay longer.
“The survey shows AGS Guest Guides provide significant value to park guests, even to the point of encouraging them to extend their stays,” Schaeffer said.
AGS distributes these guides at no cost to campers by partnering with RV park operators to identify local services most relevant to guests, including restaurants, dog groomers, RV repair shops, and urgent care centers.
Once AGS sales teams secure enough advertising to cover production costs, park operators receive these printed guides for free, along with complimentary car tags.
The guides’ distribution model is further bolstered by AGS Loyalty Dollars, awarded to park operators when a specific advertising threshold is met. These can be used to acquire promotional materials, park staff uniforms, and other resources that enhance campground amenities.
Each year, AGS publishes over 2 million guest guides across the U.S. and Canada, printing the materials on environmentally friendly recycled paper with soy-based ink.
Texas Advertising Company, Inc. acquired AGS from Good Sam Enterprises in 2011, and under its stewardship, the company has focused on enhancing the quality and reach of its publications.
