Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp-Resorts, a franchise known for its family-focused campgrounds, has earned significant recognition, with five of its locations named finalists in OHI’s Park of the Year awards.
The awards, an annual event in the outdoor hospitality sector, celebrate excellence across various campground categories based on size and commitment to sustainability. This year’s Jellystone Park finalists span Ohio, New Hampshire, and Texas.
According to a press release, three Jellystone park locations are competing in the Medium Park of the Year category, designated for parks with between 101 and 250 sites. The contenders include the Jellystone Park Camp-Resorts near Columbus, Ohio, Milton, New Hampshire, and Wichita Falls, Texas.
The Jellystone Park Camp-Resort near Houston, Texas, located in Waller, has also made a notable impact this year, appearing as a finalist in two OHI award categories. The park is being considered for the Large Park of the Year award, which recognizes campgrounds with 251 to 499 sites, and the Plan-It-Green Friendly Park of the Year, an award given to parks showing innovation and leadership in eco-friendly operations.
Additionally, the Jellystone Park Camp-Resort in North Lawrence, Ohio, is among the finalists for the Mega Park of the Year award, which honors campgrounds with over 500 sites.
OHI’s Park of the Year winners will be officially announced on November 5 during the Awards of Excellence Luncheon in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The event, a gathering for industry leaders, will celebrate the achievements of campgrounds across the country.
The nominations mark a continued streak of recognition for the Jellystone Park brand, which has seen multiple locations ranked among top RV parks in the United States. Recently, parks near Dallas, Texas; Mill Run, Pennsylvania; and Jackson, Mississippi earned places in the USATODAY’s 10Best 2024 Readers’ Choice competition.
Alongside accolades from USATODAY, the Jellystone Park brand has also received acknowledgment from major media outlets including Good Housekeeping, the Travel Channel, and U.S. News & World Report.
