Unhitched Management, a premier RV and campground management company, has assumed responsibility for the operations, management, and marketing of Land Yacht Harbor, a 55+ RV community in Melbourne, Florida.
This partnership marks the first time in the park’s 50-year history that an external management firm has been brought in, setting the stage for future improvements and a greater focus on “community engagement.”
Founded in 1975, Land Yacht Harbor was originally designed as a winter retreat for retired Airstream RV owners. Over the years, the park has grown into a destination on Florida’s Space Coast, known for its peaceful environment and close-knit community of travel enthusiasts.
The park is also located just 10 minutes from downtown Melbourne and eight miles from Paradise Beach.
According to a press release, Robert Preston, CEO of Unhitched Management, expressed excitement about the new partnership. “Land Yacht Harbor is a truly special place with a rich history, particularly its unique legacy within the iconic Airstream community, and a fantastic atmosphere.”

We are excited to leverage our expertise to manage and market Land Yacht Harbor, ensuring it remains a top destination for decades to come,” Preston noted.
The park, located at 201 N. John Rodes Boulevard, features 304 self-contained, full-hookup sites, each equipped with concrete landings, patios, and storage sheds.
Among the amenities are shuffleboard courts, horseshoe pits, and a clubhouse, where residents can gather for social activities and events.
Land Yacht Harbor operates with seasonal policies. From November 1 through April 30, the park serves as an age-restricted community for guests aged 55 and older. From May 1 to October 31, it welcomes travelers of all ages.
Unhitched Management also brings a wealth of experience in managing RV parks across the country, emphasizing community-building, operational excellence, and simplifying the complexities of park management. Their approach is rooted in their commitment to the ethos of “Disconnect to Reconnect.”
As part of their new role, Unhitched plans to make strategic improvements to the park, including enhanced amenities and streamlined operations. These changes are designed to create a better experience for both residents and guests, with a focus on strengthening the sense of community within the park.
