Twinpalms Tented Camp Phuket, a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, has announced the introduction of new wellness amenities, scheduled to launch in stages between May and July 2025.
The initiative is part of a broader strategy to expand its service offerings and enhance the guest experience through wellness-focused programming.
The resort, which opened five months ago, has positioned itself as Phuket’s first luxury tented retreat, according to a report by Breaking Travel News.
Located on Bangtao Beach, the property offers 28 one- and two-bedroom tented suites, surrounded by lagoon waterways and set against a tropical coastal backdrop.
The adults-only resort seeks to distinguish itself not just through accommodations, but also through an evolving portfolio of curated experiences.
Beginning in May 2025, the resort will open a new fitness studio featuring equipment by NOHrD, a German manufacturer known for sustainable materials and contemporary design.
The facility will incorporate natural light and be integrated into the surrounding greenery, aiming to blend physical activity with mindfulness.
Adjacent to the studio, a natural outdoor wellness area will include an outdoor shower and an ice bath carved from a Balinese boulder, offering guests an additional option for post-workout recovery.
By July, a tropical swimming pool overlooking the lagoon will also be added to the property.
This new facility will complement existing partnerships with Catch Beach Club and The Lazy Coconut, both accessible by buggy or on foot, while providing guests with a more private and tranquil setting on-site.
In line with these enhancements, the resort’s Daily Moments program has been expanded to feature a range of wellness-related activities.
These include sunrise meditation, yoga sessions, lotus petal folding workshops, mango and sticky rice tastings, chime hanging rituals, and communal sunset gatherings. These additions aim to support the resort’s emphasis on guest reflection and connection with nature.
Additional wellness services remain available at the resort’s Spa Tent, where guests can receive treatments inspired by traditional Thai healing, either within the spa or privately in their own suite.
Martin Palleros, the landscape architect behind the resort, noted the unique attributes of the Bangtao site:
“When I first looked at the Bangtao site I thought it was an opportunity for a rare blend of rural Thai landscape and modern beachside convenience. The presence of water channels, large trees and buffalos creates a setting that feels immersive and natural—something you’d expect in the remote Thai countryside rather than near a popular beach destination.”
General Manager Olivier Gibaud commented on the broader vision behind the upgrades:
“At Twinpalms, we believe true luxury lies in offering guests both emotional connection and physical wellbeing.”
”With the launch of our new fitness and wellness enhancements at the Tented Camp, we continue to evolve, offering a sanctuary where guests can reconnect with nature, themselves, and their sense of vitality. I am incredibly proud to see our third resort embody the spirit of our brand, standing out as a destination unlike any other in Phuket.”
For professionals in the outdoor hospitality and glamping sectors, Twinpalms’ wellness expansion offers a case study in evolving guest expectations.
As demand for experiences that combine luxury with health and mindfulness continues to grow, operators may consider how wellness programming can be integrated into their offerings.
Whether through physical infrastructure like spa spaces and fitness areas or daily rituals that deepen guest engagement, Twinpalms’ approach illustrates how targeted enhancements can support brand differentiation in a competitive market.
