Tuxedo Falls Luxury Camp, a new glamping retreat in western North Carolina, began welcoming guests in early July, offering an upscale, nature-focused lodging experience on 50 acres of forested land near Hendersonville.
The property features four safari-style tents and two elevated treehouses constructed by the “Treehouse Guys,” a team known for their work on the reality television show of the same name.
Each of the six accommodations is climate-controlled and includes amenities such as in-suite bathrooms, private decks, kitchenettes, pizza ovens, luxury linens, and locally handcrafted furnishings. Select units also feature heated bathroom floors, soaking tubs with scenic views, and adjustable beds.
The retreat’s co-owner, Lark Elliot, a western North Carolina native, said the goal is to blend comfort with nature. “We want to bring back those wonderful memories of summer camp or going camping with your family, but do it in comfort with an upscale experience,” Elliot said in the news release.
According to News 13, the property includes exclusive access to hiking trails and waterfalls, including a guest-only route to five waterfalls and the Tuxedo Summit Trail leading to the peak of Rice Knob.
The location, though less than 20 minutes from Hendersonville’s restaurants and wineries, is designed to feel remote and quiet, offering seclusion without complete isolation. “My favorite part is opening a window and listening to the distant sounds of waterfalls below the tree houses and tents,” Elliot added.
A range of on-site activities is also available, including arts and crafts, birdwatching, stargazing, and guided fly-fishing excursions. Each unit is equipped with yoga mats for self-guided practice at designated spots throughout the property.
A 3,300-square-foot lodge is currently under construction and is expected to open by the end of September. Once completed, it will house a food market, breakfast area, activity rooms, and a guest bar.
For owners and operators in the outdoor hospitality sector, Tuxedo Falls Luxury Camp highlights the continued demand for experience-driven glamping accommodations that offer both comfort and immersion in nature.
The integration of television-recognized craftsmanship, coupled with private access to natural attractions and year-round amenities, positions the retreat to appeal to high-value travelers seeking boutique outdoor experiences.
Businesses considering similar ventures may take note of the emphasis on curated guest activities, elevated interior design, and proximity to existing tourist infrastructure while maintaining a sense of seclusion.
