Terramor Outdoor Resort Bar Harbor, a Kampgrounds of America (KOA)-owned glamping destination near Acadia National Park, has appointed Russ Gibbons as its new general manager.
Gibbons steps into the role with a background in finance and operations and a track record of leadership across multiple high-performing KOA properties.
Gibbons previously served as general manager at the Cape Hatteras/Outer Banks KOA Resort, Tucson/Lazydays KOA Resort, and Lake Conroe KOA Holiday.
At Lake Conroe, he led the park to the highest year-over-year increase in Net Promoter Score system-wide, earning a Leadership Award at the 2024 KOA Convention.

Gibbons’s experience blends operational strategy with financial oversight. Before entering the outdoor hospitality sector, he spent 26 years at Verizon, working as budget manager and internal auditor.
His transition to KOA began after he and his wife adopted a full-time RV lifestyle as seasonal “Workampers.”
The move to Terramor is also a personal one for Gibbons, marking a return to Bar Harbor where he previously worked in 2017 with Coastal Kayaking and Acadia Bike. He said the area’s natural landscape and sense of community left a lasting impression.

As general manager, Gibbons will oversee operations at the resort, with a focus on enhancing guest satisfaction, supporting repeat visitation, and expanding the resort’s offerings in line with its nature-focused and wellness-driven mission.
