Spacious Skies Campgrounds has introduced a 15-stop Fall Color Trail stretching from Maine to Georgia, designed to give camping and glamping travelers the opportunity to witness peak autumn foliage across the Eastern United States from early September through late November.
The trail begins at Spacious Skies Balsam Woods in Abbot, Maine, and concludes at Spacious Skies Savannah Oaks in Savannah, Ga.
Covering just under 2,500 miles, the route guides visitors through regions known for their vibrant displays of maple, birch, oak, ash, hickory, and beech trees.
“Observing the perennial beauty of fall color can be inspirational and rejuvenating, and when you add the authenticity of the destinations where the campgrounds are located, our guests can experience a wholly unique fall adventure,” Ali Rasmussen, co-founder of Spacious Skies Campgrounds, said in a press release.
Each campground along the trail highlights local foliage peaks and regional experiences. Spacious Skies Minute Man in Littleton, Mass., offers proximity to Boston attractions while maintaining a traditional campground atmosphere.
In Marion, N.C., at Spacious Skies Hidden Creek, fall colors last longer than in most locations, extending through mid-November.

Alternative lodging options are available for travelers without RVs.
Cabins, yurts, tent sites, and retro trailers are offered at several locations. Spacious Skies has also partnered with RV Share to facilitate rentals either on-site or for travel between destinations.
The company’s loyalty program, Cosmic Campers, provides members with a 12% discount on site reservations, including during holidays. The program costs $31.90 annually and can be joined online.
Each trail stop offers recommended travel dates based on regional foliage peaks. The trail begins in Maine in early September, with stops moving gradually southward to match the natural color progression of the season.
Stops include properties in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, South Carolina, and Georgia. Each location lists trees commonly seen, their expected colors, and specific timing for optimal viewing.
Notable segments include Spacious Skies Woodland Hills in Austerlitz, N.Y., surrounded by river valleys and forests, and Spacious Skies Shenandoah Views in Luray, Va., where a variety of tree species offer a vivid display from early to late October.
The final leg leads to Spacious Skies Savannah Oaks in Georgia, where travelers can enjoy late-season foliage among the region’s majestic oaks into late November.
In addition to seasonal offerings, Spacious Skies is currently hiring campground staff and managers. Employment opportunities are available on the company’s website.
Spacious Skies Campgrounds operates 15 locations across the Eastern U.S., offering RV and glamping accommodations in scenic regions close to outdoor recreation and local attractions.
